my neighbour is moving out right now and gave me five Murano glasses. Now I wonder if they are real and if so, how much they are worth. Maybe you can find out?
Some more Information about the glasses:
She said she bought them in Murano about thirty years ago.
She claims that they are gilded with real gold.
They all look somewhat the same, but you can find small differences here and there. (Notice the colors of the flowers on one glass differ from the others)
There is a little golden triangle on the bottom of every one of them. Also there is some kind of sign/stamp/leftover which is a little different each time.
There are neither stickers nor signatures on the glasses.
I can’t really say anything more because I have zero experience with old glasses like these whatsoever. I would be glad to answer any kind of questions if it helps to identify the glasses.
I took some Pictures of them, they can be found if you klick on this link:
(One of the pictures is edited so you can see the “thing” on the bottom better, but it says it on the picture aswell.)
Thank you in advance,
Dear Mr. Tiemann,
From a first analysis it appears that these glasses were made in accord with the Murano glass tradition. In particular these type of glasses were common in the past, twenty-thirty years ago. I could see typical features that identify an hand made manufacturing.
